Twelve is one of the
holes players remember
most when discussing their rounds at WindStone Golf Course. The 12th
features everything you want in a world-class
par-4--or maybe not! Placement
of the elevated tee shot is everything, as a large ledge faces you, and
a bunker on the
right of the fairway provides a substantial hindrance. On this 378-yard
hole from the tips, the shortest
distance to the pin is to the right, but there's not much fairway
on that
side, and trees can make negotiating the
right side very tricky. The second shot often calls for a long iron or a utility wood. The large green allows for several different pin locations, the toughest being in the back right. There's a crown in the middle of the green that makes long
putts
tricky. If you find yourself on the back left putting to the
front, be careful because you will have the fastest putt on the course.
Play
for a par on #12, and consider yourself lucky if you accomplish it.
